An Evening Out at La Taverne, Josselin
I've said it before but, one of our favourite special places (of which I have many), in Josselin is the Bar La Taverne.
Situated in the Place Notre Dame (just across the square from the church), we always get a good welcome there from Fabien and Sandra, the hosts.
The Girlie and I have been using the bar for quite a while now and, between ourselves, refer to it as Our Bar - I'm not sure what it says about us but we do have quite a lot of Our Bars in Josselin!
Following on from the very successful St. Patricks Day Celebrations they hosted (take a look at St Patricks Day Celebrations at La Taverne, Fabien and Sandra have decided to put on another special night for the local French and English communities.

This is to be a soiree/disco and starts at 7:30pm on Saturday 18th April.
There is a set menu of Roast Lamb, Green Beens and Potatoes Rissoles with a quater of a bottle of wine for 10 Euros.
Afterwards there will be dancing to music from the 60's and 70's (you remember the 60's and 70's - that was when we were all young enough and fit enought to be able to dance!)
People are encouraged to dress up for the occasion but that is not a requirement. For those wishing to dress up (and can't find their flares), cheap costumes can be got at Sam Textiles at Guer, Malestroit or Josselin.
Fabien and Sandra would like people to reserve in advance (if you are eating) - this can be done by phoning 0297 75 67 91 or you could drop me an email and then I'll pop round to let them know (I hope the Girlie doesn't spot this cunning plan for an excuse to pop out to the bar!)
It's sure to be a great night with a really good mix of French and English, lots of silly dancing and some very good food. The Girlie and I will be there but please, don't let that put you off!
I'll be the one dressed like a hippie (not sure about the Girlie, yet), attempting to dance to the music of my youth - it'd be nice to say hello.
All the best
Keith
P.S. Even if you're not interested in either the eating or the dancing, please come along if you can make it.
P.P.S. If you want to make a day of it, the market is on in the morning and there's always the chateau to visit (I bet the gardens are getting nice now) - plenty of accomodation available locally for those who wish to stay over (obviously so as to go to church on Sunday!)
P.P.P.S. Freddie Mercury WILL BE THERE!!!!!!!
