The Handbag Debate
Comments from the author:
One of the things I love about living in France is that men are allowed to carry handbags over here.
I don't know what I would do without mine.
It goes everywhere with me and contains just about everything that I'll ever need!
In the U.K. I'd be looked at quite strangely if I carried a handbag - I'm sure my sexuality would be questioned; not that I'd give a jot!
Over here though, it is quite normal and thought of as rather sensible, even - and sensible it is!

My one carries the following....
- Address Book
- Wallet
- Diary
- Notebook & Pens
- Sunglasses
- Paperback Novel
- Penknife
- USB Key
- Corkscrew/Bottle opener (very important, that!)
- Deodorant
- Tissues
- Driving License, Passport and Insurance Documents
- Medicine
- The dreaded Mobile Phone!
Actually, the picture doesn't really tell the truth as I've just had an intensive handbag clearout!.
On the kitchen table is a large pile of bits and pieces that you just seem to accumulate - most of which, in my case, are going straight in the bin!
The Big Question
I'm going back to England for a short visit (with the Girlie and her son) in December.
I'm sure that once I am there, I will not be carrying my handbag in public. It's not that I'm worried that it would be nabbed by a bunch of hoodies.
It's more that it doesn't seem quite right outside of France.
Sort of a bit... Continental?
So the big question is... Should men have the right to carry handbags?
