A New Job
Well, it's finally happened. I've received my final pay packet from Helga's House of Pain (the local name for the abattoir where I used to work), and am now reliant on my own efforts in order to feed myself and family (and keep me in the manner to which I've become accustomed.)
The Siret number (a sort of license to run a business that you need in France) has arrived - the delays were entirely my fault! I am now on some computer somewhere as 514 452 838 00014.
Everything is ready, all we need now are some customers!
The Girlie is busy researching local businesses that don't appear to have websites and I am working on setting up our websites.
Of course, as the picture above testifies, I am no stranger to hard work, having been sent down t'pit at an early age!
As a treat, the Girlie dragged me off to La Taverne in Josselin for a steak and chip celebration!
I'm not too worried as, after 6 years of working in France, I am entitled to unemployment benefit until the business takes off. But, I'd rather not consider that and concentrate on ensuring that the business is a success.
The Steak and Chips (with mushroom sauce) were very nice and it was nice to pop back to Josselin (even if we did feel like tourists!)

I'm not really sure why the Girlie took this photograph.
I know what I look like when I am eating and...
By now, I'm sure you do as well!
But, just in case you ever feel the urgent need for a photograph of someone enjoying steak and chips at La Taverne in Josselin (and you never know what life may bring) - well, here's the perfect photo for you!
I got my own back by taking a photo of the Girlie enjoying her dindins.
But that, of course, has nothing to do with the matter of the moment, my new job!
I shall be offering IT support services through www.KeithEckstein.com.
Although I am more than happy to repair people's computers (after all, I have about 1,000,000 years experience in that - or perhaps it just seems that way), I am equally interested in helping people who run small businesses in Brittany (Gite owners, for example) protect their business IT by advising on sensible backup processes and installing remote support options (so that when your computer has a problem at 11pm, I can just connect to it from my PC, rather than having to get into the car and visit; cheaper and quicker for me - thus, cheaper and quicker for you!)
I shall be offering website design services through www.BrittanyWebsites.com.
I have also been busy updating my mushrooming website www.MushroomDiary.com. This site saw an incredible 687 unique visitors on Wednesday!
Below are some of the sites we have started work on already.

All the best....

P.S. I don't like to mention Football anymore but... Spurs are second from top of the premier league, having won all four matches so far! This is their best start since 1960/61 - the year when they won the double! I'm so happy, I think I'll wet myself!
P.P.S. Whoops, time to change my underpants, I think!
