Just the way I pretend I speak fluent English, I sometimes pretend I understand Breton! I answer with lots of -ouez -ouec -ach words and it has its little effect! hehe It's a strange *language*, when I switch on tv in Breton, my ears suffer a bit, I'm not used to the hard sounds or combinations of it! :)

Keith, so many of the Breton familial words are identical to those used in my native Welsh. Those that differ are : brother = brawd ; husband = gwr (gwaz/gwas is used in Welsh as 'servant'!) ; boy = bachgen ; girl can be geneth (+merch) ; man = dyn; woman = menyw (+gwraig) ; marriage = priodas and neighbour = cymydog.
It's a pleasure to read your site and If I can be of any (further) use, as in pronunciation etc. just give me a shout, as it were. G.
P.S....sorry to be a joke fiend, but what do you call a learned Welshman? DI-VERSITY, innit!
