Fish and chips for tea?

Fish and chips for tea? Fishing at Josselin, Morbihan, BrittanyThe Girlie and I both fancied fish and chips for tea.

So, armed with our new fishing licenses, we both hurried down the hill to the canal.

We found a comfortable spot and cast out our lines!

Surely it wouldn't be long before an accommodating fish agreed to be our supper?

I'm not sure that the Girlie realised that the chances of catching a nice plump cod were slightly less than zero but, then again, she is new to this fishing lark!

Fish and chips for tea? Fishing at Josselin, Morbihan, BrittanyWe did do our best to bring home the bacon (or cod in batter - whatever) but... the fishes didn't want to play (or get caught!)

Perhaps they were all busy watching the football?

Anyway, after a couple of hours we decided to give up and wander home.

We went home the back way - just so we wouldn't meet anyone who would ask about.... the one that got away!

Fish and chips for tea? Fishing at Josselin, Morbihan, BrittanyI have just realised that the Girlie has an alternative motive where it comes to fishing.

You see, in order to go fishing, I have to dig worms (the Girlie doesn't like touching worms). In order to dig worms, I have to dig over her vegetable patch!

So, not only does she have the pleasure of going fishing but I have the dubious pleasure of digging her garden for her!

All the best

Keith
