Easter Monday - A Perfect Day

Easter Monday - A Perfect DayThe highlight of Easter Monday was my little girlie, Cindy, catching her first mousie at Rue St. Nicolas!

The Girlie (the human one) and I saw a mousie a few weeks ago and since then Cindy has been prowling the back of the vegetable patch - she must have smelt something!.

Finally, her perseverance paid off!

Easter Monday - A Perfect DayBut, to get back to Easter Monday, The Girlie and I started off the day by going to her house to show it to a prospective buyer.

The couple who were looking at the house seemed interested but, who know?

We then made a suprise visit to our friends, Paul and Rosalyn, on the other side of the valley at their Half Acre Farm.

We found them sitting in their garden enjoying the glorious Bank Holiday weather.

Easter Monday - A Perfect DayPaul has just erected a mini-Stonehenge in his garden! More details can be found at... An English Rose in France

The Girlie and I had a nice long chat with Rosalyn and Paul, washed down by a nice cold bottle of beer, and then departed to Guegon for the Vide-Grenier there.

We didn't find all the things that we were looking for (we were hoping for some sixties/seventies style clothes for the Soiree/Disco at La Taverne this coming Saturday), but I did get a mini digital camera/videocam/spycam for 2 euros - I'm not sure what I'll use it for but, I'm sure it will come in handy sometime soon!

Another 2 euros got us a box of lego for the Joshmobile! and 50 centimes got me a silly flowerpot thingy!

The Girlie got herself something for 2 euros - I'm not sure what it is or what she is going to use it for but, she seemed happy with it so I suppose that good, isn't it?

We met some old friends and had a lovely time just wandering round (as you tend to do - if you live in beautiful Brittany!)

Easter Monday - A Perfect DayIt was still warm enough to eat outside when we got back home - so we did!.

Hot roast potatoes, leftover roast lamb and strawberries and cream!

We were just finishing up when Cindy, the mousecatcher in chief, caught her first mousie since we have been at Rue St. Nicolas.

We tried very hard to ignore the crunching sounds that she made as she was eating the poor mousie (I'm talking about Cindy here, not the Girlie - the Girlie very rarely eats raw mousies!)

Easter Monday - A Perfect DayCindypuss spent the evening as proud as punch!

Sammy wasn't so impressed - "why go to the bother of catching your own dindins", he asked me. "When you have 2 tame humans who've been trained to supply dindins for you?"

Sometimes I'm not too sure who is the owner and who is the pet?

I don't think the cats ever ask themselves that question - they already know!

Easter Monday - A Perfect DayI suppose that I ought to apologise for the violent nature of the photos on this posting.

But, I don't think I will!

I'm afraid that's the sort of thing you'll have to put up with - if you read this blog... sorry!

The Girlie and I both ended up going to bed, once again, tired but happy - another perfect day (but then, aren't they all!)

All the best

Keith

P.S. At the Vide Grenier, we met the lovely Rachel, whom both the Girlie and I worked with at EuroPig (the abattoir from hell - also known, by some of its employees, as Helga's House of Pain!)

Rachel is having a baby (not right at this instant, I'm sure you understand but, there is one in her tummy and it's due to pop out sometime in August) and she was looking radient! So.... "Hello Rachel, and..... keep your legs tightly crossed until August!"
