New School Bus?
Well…
Personally I don’t know what’s wrong with the kiddies walking miles and miles to school but…
Apparently others think differently!

At long last…
We have got a local supermarket…
Delivery service!
Now, some of you…
With real supermarkets…
Might laugh at us…
At long last…
The local council have agreed to fund a local bus service…
In La Gacilly…
Well, we are a bit behind the times here in rural (and slightly backward) Brittany…
I was going to lie and pretend that my Great Aunt Griselda…
The one who may, or may not, be a child eating witch…
And who mainly lives on worm sandwiches and…
Frog spawn soup…
When she can’t get enough children, that is…
Actually lives in this house in La Gacilly…
I do have to admit that we’re slightly behind the times here in rural Brittany….
And things tend not to happen as fast here as they may do elsewhere…
But surely this little man shouldn’t still be hanging around?
Read more about… Spotted in La Gacilly – Just hanging around….
I don’t know who the pirates are…
Or what they’re doing in La Gacilly…
Which is, after all, a long way from the sea?
It seems that Christmas has come to La Gacilly and this year they really seem to have pulled out all the stops to make it extra special.
I’ve been playing around with my new camera…
It’s got modes for all sorts of things…
Photographing Children, photographing Adults, Sunsets, Dawn…
Everything except for Misty mornings, it seems…
Perhaps I’ll find it one day?
I’m still trying to get to grips with my new camera…
It’s not a very posh one but it does have a few knobs and dials and buttons to press…
Which makes it a lot more complicated than the last camera…
I was having a wander this morning, after dropping the FourteenYearOld off at school, and noticed the window of this shop…
I stood on the bridge…
In a hole in the wind…
That plucked and pulled at me…
Until I could stand no more…
And so I went for a coffee at the bar.
Early morning La Gacilly is changing day by day.
As Summer turns to Autumn…
And the tourists have gone home…
And it’s just us locals here again.
OK, I know that I might have mentioned that my Father asked me to nick some flowers but…
I’ve never noticed this sign before!
Do you think that someone on the council at La Gacilly…
Might read BretonDiary?
All the best

How quickly things change…
Now, when I take the FourteenYearOld to school I have to use the headlights…
And La Gacilly is dark and winterish at 8am.
Roll on next summer…
The Photo Exhibition might be over…
But La Gacilly is still a pretty place to see…
These are some photos taken over the last few weeks.
Some of my friends from La Gacilly…
They don’t say much but I don’t care…
As long as they don’t talk about me behind my back!
Whilst Father was over we stumbled across an outside lesson…
As an ex-teacher, I think Father was amazed…
They didn’t have things like that, back in his day!
The Redon sculptor, Guy Lorgeret, had some beautiful sculptures on display.
Haunting and very powerful; I’ve been watching these for a few months….
Statues tell tales, you know….
Swimming is not allowed in the river at La Gacilly…
I was going to jump in to see if I’d get arrested but…
As Father was with me, I thought it might be rude.
