This year we had a selection; we all chose something we liked…
Which is why we ended up with spicy chicken wings, turkey, pork and boudin noir to go with our roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds!

They’re blue and white (same colours as Spurs, really) and are the epitome of class and style!

I had a lot of trouble choosing the Girlie’s main pressie…
I knew that most of the things she wanted, I couldn’t afford…
But I’d also noticed that, over the last year, she has been taking more interest in Footie…
Even if she doesn’t understand the offside rule!
So, problem over…
I’ll get her a table top football set for Christmas…
And spend the rest of the year showing her the finer points of the glorious game!

It must be Christmas as I’m probably far too busy unwrapping my pressies, wearing my Christmas cardigan, playing Subuteo (I hope that Father Christmas didn’t make a mistake and deliver it to the wrong house!) and drinking Harveys Bristol Cream to do a post today.
This post, I did yesterday (if that makes any sense.)
The FourteenYearOld and I went Christmas shopping together to buy some presents for The Girlie.
Afterwards the FourteenYearOld persuaded me to pop into the handily placed bar for a well deserved drinkypoos!
The local primary school have a seesaw outside…
With a couple of dummies sat on it.
I freely admit that I’d lived here for about 6 months before I realised that they weren’t actual people…
Sometimes I am rather slow on the uptake!
By the local primary school there is a sort of bus shelter…
A sheltered area for the kids to wait in until they get picked up after school…
Or the school bus arrives to collect them…
Although, as the bus has yet to be invented in this part of rural Brittany…
The little kiddies would probably be old age pensioners…
Before the bus arrives!
Well, we had been fighting our way through the crowds…
Doing our last minute Christmas shopping…
And I was tired…
And it was getting dark…
The Girlie and I went to Redon today to buy our Christmas tree.
We decided to get a small one and then also make some Christmas tree sort of thingies out of Holly that we can gather locally.
I’m not too sure if this is to save money; I have a horrible feeling that the Girlie watched all too much Blue Peter when she was a little… well, Girlie!
This is the tree we decided on, it’ll be unwrapped and installed in the living room and then, tonight, the Girlie and Josh can decorate it.
I’m not getting involved. I know that my job will come every morning until festivities are over – putting the bloody thing back up after the cats have spent the night playing Tarzan and Jane, climbing all over it!
Still, I expect it’ll look pretty enough when it is decorated – it’ll just need a pretty little angel to sit on the top.
“Girlie, where are you – got a job for you! Might be an idea to clench your buttocks first!”

I have been planning my Christmas menus (with the help of the annual catalogues that the local supermarkets distribute). So here goes….
The Christmas tree went up today. I know that last year I said “Never Again!”, but it really wouldn’t be Christmas without a tree, would it?
