Spurs 4 – FC Twente 1

Glory days are here again!

Glory days are here again!

Glory days are here again!

I suppose that I ought to say (before I get too enthusiastic – ‘cos you know we’re going to lose the next one 10-0!)….. It’s still a silly game, anyway!

Outside School…

la gacilly Outside School... Life in Brittany, France

Whilst Father was over we stumbled across an outside lesson…

As an ex-teacher, I think Father was amazed…

They didn’t have things like that, back in his day!

Rochefort en Terre

out and about Rochefort en Terre Life in Brittany, France

During his stay here, Father and I visited Rochefort en Terre.

It was on the way back from Vannes and the weather was good so we made a minor (and intended, this time) detour.

Rochefort is a favourite with tourists but none the worse for that.

We wandered a bit and then sat down for a coffee….

And to watch the world go by…

Father in Vannes

family Father in Vannes Life in Brittany, France

On our second trip to Vannes, Father disgraced himself…

We had Moules Frites for lunch and he couldn’t finish all of his…

I expect they’ll ban him from entering Brittany again, because of that!

The Father of all storms…

family The Father of all storms... Life in Brittany, France

My Father’s name is Klaus…

I’ve seen these photos at La Gacilly many, many times…

I’d never read the bumf, though…

For some reason I did when Father was over here….

Now I know what he was up to in January 2010!

Vannes Fish Market

out and about Vannes Fish Market Life in Brittany, France

On a recent trip to Vannes, Father and I went into the fish market.

We arrived a little bit late and they were starting to pack up.

We did manage to pick up some smoked sardines (which were lovely!) and a dozen large oysters.

You’re having a laugh…

family Youre having a laugh... Life in Brittany, France

The Girlie took this photo whilst Father was over here on holiday…

I think she’d just told this donkey about my attempts at cooking eels?

Or maybe they were just discussing Spurs’ current form?

Either way, the donkey seemed to find it rather amusing…

West Ham 1 – Spurs 0

Chelsea lost, Arsenal lost and so, of course, Spurs had to lose as well!

I suppose that it says something that we managed to lose against the team at the bottom of the table!

We were crap; we were pathetic and we are now in 7th position in the league!

I suppose that there’s one thing left to say before I go and hang myself….. It’s a bloody silly, stupid, pathetic game, anyway!

Father did buy rather a lot of Garlic whilst he was here…

I don’t know if he just likes the taste or if he has a vampire problem?

The Redon sculptor, Guy Lorgeret, had some beautiful sculptures on display.

Haunting and very powerful; I’ve been watching these for a few months….

I don’t know if it was the beard they liked….

Or perhaps they just thought he was an easy touch?

No Swimming!

Swimming is not allowed in the river at La Gacilly…

I was going to jump in to see if I’d get arrested but…

As Father was with me, I thought it might be rude.

Monster of the Vide Greniers….

general Monster of the Vide Greniers.... Life in Brittany, France

The Girlie and I are having a Vide Greniers in the barn over the weekend (please feel free to come, if you’re in the area)…

We’ve been busy sorting out all the stuff that we want to get rid of…

I’ve got loads of old farm implements to dispose of…

I did find a mask as well…

Not sure if I want to get rid of that!

Salade de Poulpes

kitchen Salade de Poulpes Life in Brittany, France

Whilst Father was visiting, we went to Vannes a couple of times…

The second time, I got some baby Octopusses in olive oil.

I made up a very simple salad and we had them as a starter.

The Girlie and The FourTeenYearOld did not partake!

Father seemed to enjoy his visit to rural Brittany…

I hope so.

Spurs 1 – Arsenal 4

We were one all and I went to bed!

Then we let in 3 goals in injury time!

We’re now out of the Carling Cup. This might be part of Harry Redknapp’s strategy as he opted to rest most of the regular players and, obviously, paid the price as the experience of Arsenal took hold in extra-time.

League performance (and another year in Europe) are more important than the Carling Cup. I just wish we hadn’t been kicked out by the Smelly Stinky Gooners!

I suppose that there’s one thing to say….. It’s a bloody silly, stupid game, anyway!
